Pursue Your Passion 2020 would like to thank one of our Gold Sponsors, Cox Communications. Cox is also sponsoring our conference Connect + Conquer Ceremony on Wednesday, November 11 from 5:00-7:00 pm CST.

Cox believes life gets better when we have more moments of real human connections. That’s why for the past 56 years, Cox has been connecting customers to the things they care about most. What started off as cable tv has grown into broadband, phone, home security and automation and business services. In a changing environment, Cox has their eyes on the future and continues to look for more innovative ways to give people the connections they enjoy.

It all starts with the employees at Cox. Cox invests in their talent by providing training and talent development opportunities to empower employees to better serve customers. They embrace diversity among its employees, and have been consistently recognized for its diverse workforce. For the past 11 years, Cox has been recognized as a best operator for women by Women in Cable Telecommunications and Cox has ranked among DiversityInc’s Top 50 Companies for Diversity for the past 15 years.

We are thrilled to feature an interview with Kristin Longley on the importance of adaptation during the Connect + Conquer event. Kristin is the Director of Public Affairs for Cox Communications. Kristin will be interviewed by Kolleen Edwards Chesley, Founding Director Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast.

In her role at Cox, Kristin oversees external media relations, community affairs and strategic partnerships to drive business development. She has worked in media for over 25 years in Pensacola, Atlanta and San Diego. Community support is key for Kristin as she is a mentor in the Executive Mentor program at UWF, and actively serves on the Board of Directors of the YMCA, the Baptist Health Care Foundation, Escambia County Public Schools Foundation, and the Pensacola Chamber Military Affairs Board. She is a past participant in Leadership Pensacola and Women in Cable Telecommunications. Kristin also is on the board for IMPACT 100 Pensacola Bay Area.

To further our theme of connection, this virtual gathering’s goal is for attendees to connect with an accountability partner that is experiencing a similar struggle or challenge. Many of us are struggling with the isolation of our “new normal” and adding accountability partners can help support each of us throughout the rest of the conference and possibly beyond.

Most importantly, Cox supports the communities in which they serve by providing support to local non-profits. In 2019, Cox awarded more than one million dollars in cash and in-kind services to charities along the Gulf Coast. With the focus on making our community better, Cox looks for strategic partnerships that improve Pensacola and the surrounding area. Today, Cox is proud to support Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast with their 8th Annual Pursue Your Passion conference.
